APPLY NOW: USCET-TFAS Fellows Program

International Student Deadline is January 14, 2011


The US-China Education Trust is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the tenth class of USCET-TFAS Fellows to spend the summer of 2011 in Washington, DC!  Juniors, Seniors, and graduate students with any major are welcome to apply.  Limited scholarship funding is available, especially to students from the interior who demonstrate financial need.

The Fund for American Studies' (TFAS) Summer Institutes enable students to get a first-hand look at American society and government by living, learning and interning in Washington for eight weeks.

The following Institutes will be held from June 5 - July 30, 2011 at Georgetown University in Washington, DC:
 

Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems: For students interested in economics, government and international affairs Institute on Political Journalism: For students interested in journalism or communications Institute on Business and Government Affairs: For students interested in how business influences government and the political process Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service: For students interested in nongovernmental organizations or civil society Students from all over the world live and study together at Georgetown University, and hold internships for approximately 30 hours per week. Experts from journalism, business, public policy and the nonprofit sector engage students in weekly dialogues held both at Georgetown and at locations such as the Department of State and Capitol Hill.

In addition to the online application, applicants must send a letter of recommendation from a professor, as well as a copy of their official transcript. Transcripts should be sent via fax to 202.318.0441. Applicants should also send proof of English proficiency in the form of TOEFL exam scores or a letter from a professor of English attesting to the applicant's level of English abilities. All materials must be received no later than January 14 in order to be considered.
